The "Seeds of Change"program will help to create
lasting positive change in the communities we ride through
by offering proven project and development plans that local
communities can implement, from recycling projects to disease
prevention, access to local resources and other non-profit
organizations for help and support, as well as financial and
material support from the national and international communities.
In each community we ride thru, the One World Odyssey team
will give a Seeds of Change presentation at local schools,
community centers, parks and other locations. Presentations
will include a video and/or slide show, informational handouts,
posters, books, and giveaways from the One World Odyssey team
and our sponsors. The specific Seeds of Change program that is presented will
vary greatly depending on the audience, the setting, and most
importantly, the needs of that particular community. Each
community we ride thru will have very different imbalances
and concerns they are adressing, therefore the Odyssey staff
will have developed a number of culturally sensitive and circumstantially
appropriate programs. In a larger city for example, the program
might focus on recycling and bicycle advocacy, where as in
a smaller village setting, water conservation might be a more

As the One World Odyssey team will only spend between a few
hours to a few days in each community we ride thru, perhaps
the most important aspect of the Seeds of Change program is
that we will leave behind fertile conditions for this new
seed to grow. We will do this in two ways:
The Sun: By spending time with a community and speaking
with its leaders, the Odyssey team will have a clear understanding
of that community and its particular needs. Using satellite
communication from the Mobile Base Camp, the Odyssey staff
will post weekly internet updates with pictures and stories
from that community, detailing their most prevalent needs.
There will be an online link for each community so that contributing
individuals and organizations can decide exactly
which community they would like their material or financial
contribution will go. (Please note: 100% of your Seeds of
Change contribution will go directly to the community or individual
of your choosing, but we require all financial contributions
to pass thru our offices, as it is much easier for us to convert
your financial contribution into local currency than an individual
in a remote mountain village!)
The Soil: The One World Odyssey will leave each community with proven project and development plans that can be easily implemented, but often they may not have the necessary resources or facilities to support some of the more elaborate projects, such as school recycling or bio-diesel manufacturing. With the help of our in-country partners, the One World Odyssey will provide each community with the necessary information and in-country contacts, so they may easily obtain the information necessary to begin such projects.
Our goal is to leave each country not only educated and inspired, but also empowered to take action to create positive change, reduce suffering and increase overall peace and happiness.
