There are 79 countries to choose
from. If your elected country is not available, we will contact
you to discuss other options or put you in contact with the
adoptee of that country to make any arrangements for trades
or purchases.
For each country you adopt you will receive to following
benefits as a thank you for your donation:
• Four (4) VIP trips for up to two week for yourself,
your family or members of your organization to come out and
ride with the Odyssey. Below is a list of what the complimentary
trips include:
1. Four VIP reservations: This is the
main benefit that guarantees at least four members
of your family or organization will be able to join the
expedition for up to two (2) weeks.
2. Tandem Bike Benefits: Reserved seating
on two (2) seats of the tandem bikes. Note that these are
seats and not two individual tandem bikes. Each
day of riding your group can decide who will ride on the
tandem seats. The daily adventure is who you will be riding
with! You'll love it!
3. Single Bikes: Two (2) bikes should
be brought by the remaining 2 people. We will reserve two
spots on the bike racks of the support vehicle for your
bikes. Bikes should be in excellent working order and pre-examined
by a bike mechanic before joining the expedition.
4. Airfare and Ground Transportation:
Airfare and ground transportation is not included. You will
need to arrange your flight, visa and transportation to
any city along our route that you choose to join.
5. Food: Some food will be cooked in the
Mobile Base Camp, sometimes we will all eat out at local
restaurants, and sometimes we will eat with local families.
You are invited to be our guest and share in meals and as
our VIP guest we will cook and pay for food for all adopt
country donors for healthy expedition-style meals. If you
choose to eat at different restaurants or purchase different
food that is fine but will be an additional expense for
you.
6. Accommodation: Please keep in mind
that you are a guest of a 3-year international adventure
sports expedition around the world. The One World Odyssey
does not generally pre-arrange accommodation in every city.
But we do provide our team with the “Mobile Base Camp”
to ensure that every night we will have a place to sleep.
We also have extra tents and sleeping bags. There will be
several nights where we sleep in guest houses, youth hostels,
and even home stays with local families. The adventure of
the One World Odyssey is NOT knowing where you will sleep
and eat every night. Accommodation beyond the Mobile Base
Camp and camping fees are not included in your benefits
but you are welcome to stay in other lodging facilities
in the cities we stop in each night.
• A professional DVD: Edited footage
from WARP will be edited free of charge for you and/or your
organization. The length will be between 15-45 minutes. We
anticipate this will take between 3-6 months to be delivered.
We will send four (4) copies of the DVD to the primary donor’s
address listed on the app
• Four custom cycling jerseys: The
cycling jerseys will feature the colors and flag of the country
you adopted. If your club or organization has logos, slogans
or other items you would like included on your cycling jerseys
• Thank You Plaque: This is an optional
item that can be displayed in your home, office or club headquarters.
It features a photo of your team on the road and a thank you
for your support.
• Website and Media Recognition: A
corporate logo and mention of your support in the media and
on website pages is our way of saying thank you. This includes
web pages of the itinerary, route maps, and donor or sponsor
pages of the site. Please provide Jpeg or Gif logos and links
to your organization if you would like mention on the website.
Special Payment Options: Option
S and Option T does not give you VIP
benefits listed above. However, you will receive priority
reservations over other guests who want to come out on the
ride. You are still expected to make a donation on the sliding
scale like all other guests of the One World Odyssey, minus
the amount of your adopt a country contribution.
The “Adopt a Country Program” is a fundraising
project of Peace Pedalers for their One World Odyssey project.
Peace Pedalers is a California Non-Profit Corporation awaiting
501c(3) status from the IRS. All paperwork has been filed
by a non-profit attorney.
Donations made in 2005 will be tax deductible since the donation
is made in good faith to an organization with every intention
of operating according to the laws governing exempt organizations.
